In Hip Hop there will always be disputes, who's the best rapper? what city makes the best music? whats the hottest album? who's the best story teller? who's better biggie, pac or pun? who's real and who's fake?

Everybody will have their own supporting answer, but the best consecutive Hip Hop concert has got to go to Guerrila Union's ROCK THE BELLS. In its 7th edition & this time in 4 selected citys including NYC, DMV, L.A., & San Francisco. You were able to hear some of the greatest MC's of all time perform their legendary albums from the golden era of Hip Hop.

The artist that performed where from an era when you really had to be moliendo. A time when their was no social networks, youtubes, gimmicks,  dancing steps, or marketing schemes. Some of today's artist would have been eatin alive during the East vs West Coast beefs, the crack addicted streets, during the Bush-Clinton era.
It was an age about making the ALBUM.

Two stages, awesome weather, that funky smell that you can only smell at a concert, and over 15000 people wearing cool Tshirts and cargo shorts. The event united more whites, blacks, asians, and Latinos than the Glen Beck rally on MLKJR anniversary at the Lincoln Memorial this past Saturday.

Arriving at the event was a line longer than every night club on a weekend put together..But the line actually moved fast. As I arrive Slick Rick had already performed, after getting our drinks, We head towards the PAID DUES stage.

On the "PAID DUES" stage you were able to step into the underground realm of Hip hop...Hardcore lyrics. Some of the best performances were from Jedi Mind Tricks, Murs, Ill Bill with Dj Muggs, Brother Ali, an albino rapper, who had people moving to his punchlines and by the crowds reaction you can tell he made new fans. Immortal Technique, a peruvian rapper from Harlem, started his set with a crazy political accapella. He was problay the realest rapper there that was not afraid to walk amongst the crowd. Wiz Khalifa suprised the crowd when he introduced Wale on stage. Tom Morrello from Rage against the Machine performed with his new group called Streetsweaper Social Club.

On the main stage KRS ONE performed songs from CRIMINAL MINDED and educated the crowd as well. Supernatural who has the guiness book for freestyling the longest, freestyl'd on the spot about KRS-1 success.
A Tribe Called Quest had a crazy routine that had Qtip stripping to his boxers and introduced Busta Rhymes on stage for OH MY GOD and SCENARIO. DJ PREMIER was on the Tables representing for the DJS playing GANGSTARS classic and had a crazy dj set paying tribute to the late GURU.

Rakim still held it down performing  his hits from the PAID IN FULL

Wu Tang Clan performed their classic album ENTER THE 36Th CHAMBER. Ol Dirty Basterds son who strikes a crazy resemblance to his father did a crazy job and was not shy to jumped into the crowd. Inspektah Deck who had receieved news that his mother passed away hours before his performance did a crazy job as well.

Ms. Lauryn Hill who a lot of people came to see, was first announced that she was not going  to perform but then ended up late sounded & looked horrible, however she surprised everybody when Nas stepped on stage to help her out with IF I RULED THE WORLD.

SNOOP DOGG who I think had the best performance of all with a theatrical introduction to DOGGYSTYLE and a picnic table with 40'oz's. with the help from Lady of Rage, RBX, Warren G, Daz  Kurupt. Snoop rocked the crowd even tough he had a teleprompt of his lyrics.

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE AT NEXT YEARS ROCK THE BELLS.....THIS WOULD BE MY LIST

Mobb Deep
Beatnuts
Capone N Noreaga
House of Pain
The Firm (reunion)

SUMMER almost Se Acaba

Submitted by moliendomix on Mon, 2010-08-23 23:54

Wow we at the end of Agosto and this Verano really heated us up. It was so hot that the kiddie pissed pools were bubbelng like hot tubs of champange and The sounds of the vuvuzuela was heard every morning from 7:am to 4:30pm. All the ladies were singing Ushers "OMG", the high rollers were blasting "BEAMER, BENZ or BENTLY" while all the hustlas were cranking "NISSAN, HONDA, CHEVY" and all the little kiddies were annoying us with "Skinny Wack Chick" (translate that in spanish) or Lady Gaga.

But what about the musica en espanol?

Its hard to really pick out a track that was like you that's the Latin Track of the summer....Its like all spanish music is Summer music, because it all has that tropical flavor. Some of the tracks that you think are the hit of the summer end up being that one hit wonder dance track that you wont hear again.

One thing for sure is that it felt more URBAN than the previous summers. Don Omar got more lyrical by shouting outs his reggaeton compadres on "HASTA ABAJO". Chosen Fews FUEGO followed the steps of Omega and took advantage of the new Mambo fievre. Coscuellela (hoped i spelled the name right) did his thing with "Prrum".

Now SCHOOLS back, Fall is less than a month away & Winter is right behind it. Y ESO QUE SIGNIFICA?

CHANGE  & Step Ya gAme Up

mean time
You still got time to enjoy the playa, the rollercoasters, the waterslides, the river...and whatever else you do

STAY MoLIENDO

Richard ‘Crazy Legs’ Colon from the worldwide legendary ROCK
STEADY CREW

Said it best

B-Boying is the bastard child of Hip-Hop
Graffiti is the Black Sheep
Dj-ing is the obedient child that always does what its told
And Rap is the spoiled brat….
Who is actually the youngest of the four

I would like to add by saying that reggaeton is the young stepsister. They both have the same father who is REGGAE and they have different mothers. Reggaeton’s mother comes from Latin America,  shes a freak, knows how to dance and is half Puerto Rican and half Panamanian. Hip Hops mother is a mix of Funk, Soul and Blues, so there fourth she must be African American.

When did Hip Hop officially become a music genre? Maybe it was when Billboards (also known as musics god) tells the world one day "today I introduce to you Hip Hop as a music genre".

Its like this god came and grabbed the youngest son and spoiled it by giving him fame, jewelry, clothes, cars, and everything materialistic that you could think of. Rap loved it, its from the streets.

Well RAP is all grown up and has had many kids like Christian Rap, Southern Rap, West Coast Rap, East Coast Rap,  Hardcore Rap, Pop-Rap, Street Rap, ect.

RADIO PLAY is like FOOD for music and music will do anything to eat, sometimes even sell its soul or do anything to alternate its appearance( like making a remix). With that being said POP MUSIC is like the rich popular kid. POP has no problem eating and gaining peoples attention. All though POP is rich and will occasionly come out with a genius idea but most of the time POP comes out with some of the stupidest things and trick people into thinking its cool. Then that cool idea is forgotten and ashamed of.

Since POP has money and a lot of power it has tricked FM Radio Stations into playing POP-RAP and calling it HIP HOP. POP has even
taken the street creditability out of STREET RAP. Meaning you no longer need to have street credentials to make STREET RAP, some of the most successful rappers are Ex-Correctional Officer’s, nerds, and even fake gangbangers and fictious druglords.

So where does MOLIENDO MIX SHOW fit into this subject that has been talked about on numerous shows, ciphers, and magazines? First let me get this off my chest, I love music, I love being Latino, and I love being Hip Hop. But Deep inside I hate calling this music Latin Hip Hop or Hip Hop Latino. Latinos have been in Hip Hop since day one. I don’t believe in segrating music. Why do we segregate HIP HOP on some Black Hip Hop use this bathroom and Latino Hip Hop use this other bathroom. ITS ALL MUSIC!!!!! The same FM Stations that claim to be the Home of HIP HOP, should also play LATINO HIP HOP. Especially if you want Rappers with STREET CRED….lol

But MUSIC is a Business, and if you want people to hear your music you have to categorize it. SUCKS DON’T IT!!! Now tell someone in espanol. Esto es Rap en espanol, they automatically put reggaeton in the same conversation. Yes some reggeaton has raps in their songs, but so does merengue. Reggeaton fell under POPS influence and look what happened. Reggaeton is in its own genre of music just like salsa. Does it always have to be in the same conversation as Latin Hip Hop?

THE MOLIENDO MIX SHOW embraces Latin Hip Hop and Underground Hip Hop. We bring these two subgenres of HIPHOP and mix them together to give you music that you wont hear anywhere else. We do not focus on reggaeton or pop-rap, although we might sneak a track here and there because yes, we like to drink and party. Not only do we mix this music together but we also unite countries together to celebrate REAL HIP HOP. Here you will hear artists regardless of their language or their skin color. You will hear artists from Dominican Republic, Chile, El Salvador and the US all in one playlist. Even in the chat room. THE MOLIENDO MIX SHOW represents the true grind of the underground. We give underground artist the opportunity to get played on radio not just to the local scene but to other parts of the US and most importantly the whole world.

CALLE 13 is "NOT AFRAID"

Submitted by moliendomix on Mon, 2010-08-09 00:26

I just finished watchiando the new video of Calle 13's "Calma Pueblo" and I gotta give props when props is due. For all those that think that in Latin Music only sex sells, well guess what so does controversy & Calle 13 is selling their alma for this one. Residente is spiiting some real social awarenss from the heart about the industry, religion, corporate machines and real life (living on section 8, mom losing her job). In my opinion Ive always considered him to be the "Puerto Rican Eminem" now I look at Eminem as being the "American Residente". Lo Siento I take that back Calle 13 is definitivamente more talentoso than Rabbit from 8 mile. For one they dont just make the regular Hip Hop beats they know how to mix it up with other type of music like cumbia, tango, banda, ect. This time he mixes it up with rock music estilo Jayz Z "99 Problems". If you think Im EM-Bashing its cause Im not feeling his single "Not Afraid"...not afraid?...lol yeah right

CALLE 13 is NOT AFRAID si no me creen checkea the lirica y el video on youtube..

CALMA PUEBLO

Adidas no me usa yo estoy usando Adidas
