WASHINGTON, D.C.—The John F. Kennedy Center for the
Performing Arts presents Celebrate Mexico 2010, commemorating Mexico’s 200 years of
Independence from the Spanish Crown, and 100 years since the 1910 Revolution
that toppled dictator Porfirio Diaz.  Highlighted
performances and exhibitions in Celebrate
Mexico 2010
cover the vast breadth of Mexico’s contributions to the arts
world, including pre-Hispanic, Spanish, modern, and contemporary Mexican art. The
celebration kicks off September 11, 2010 with the Kennedy Center’s free 26th
Annual Open House Arts Festival and closes October 1, 2010 with a free
performance by Tambuco Percussion Ensemble.
