The festival is co-presented by Caribbean Association of World Bank and IMF staff (CAWI), Caribbean Professional Network (CPN), Institute of Caribbean Studies (ICS) and Africa World Now Project. The festival opens with HOMELANDS, a musical odyssey following four acclaimed British urban musicians as they return to their cultural roots in Jamaica, Dominica, Senegal and Suriname. Other highlights include family drama KEYLA, the first-ever fiction feature shot in Providence Island in the Colombian Caribbean; mouthwatering culinary documentary CUBAN FOOD STORIES, with filmmaker Asori Soto in attendance; Ernest Dickerson's (THE DEUCE, TREME, THE WIRE) DOUBLE PLAY, an adaptation of the prize-winning novel by Curaçaoan writer Frank Martinus Arion; heartwarming Dominican documentary JEFFREY, winner of the Discovery Award at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival; and GRACE JONES: BLOODLIGHT AND BAMI, an acclaimed new documentary about Jamaican icon and multihyphenate Grace Jones.
