Maryland's own glam rockers kick off M3 Festival
The M3 Rock Festival is returning again to the Merriweather Post Pavilion on April 25th and 26th, kicking off the summer music festival season. Whether rock-n-roll or hair metal is your poison, this year’s lineup does not disappoint!
Don’t miss the chance to see Maryland’s own glam metal vets, Kix, who are getting the party started on Friday, April 25th. Formed in Hagerstown, MD in 1977, Kix has been an essential band since the 80s hair metal hey days. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1981, with the songs “Atomic Bombs,” “The Kid” and “Yeah Yeah Yeah” that quickly became hits and concert favorites. The band earned commercial success and recognition with their 1988 release Blow My Fuse, which went platinum following the popularity of power ballad “Don’t Close Your Eyes” and head banging anthem “Cold Blood.” Since the early 80s, Kix has released six studio albums and two live albums, most recently in 2013. Though the band has not released any new material since 1995, they have continuously played festivals, special events and reunion shows and never stop rocking the faces off of new and old fans alike and their high-energy performances. As a result of hitting the local club circuit six nights per week in their early years (especially at the infamous Hammerjacks!), Kix cultivated a huge local fan base that still turn up in droves to rock out with this acclaimed band.
